Attendees enjoyed an outstanding presentation by Rob Foxenberg\, who shared his expertise and passion for hot air ballooning. Adding to the experience\, Foxenberg brought one of his balloon baskets for guests to see up close\, offering a unique\, hands-on perspective. The presentation sparked excitement throughout the room and may have inspired a few future aviators. In addition to the evening’s program\, EAA Chapter 1710 proudly recognized Ian Dieck as its 2025 Member of the Year. Each year\, EAA chapters select an individual who exemplifies outstanding commitment and service\, and Ian’s dedication to the Young Eagles program made him a clear choice. Ian has gone above and beyond in his volunteer efforts\, actively assisting at Young Eagles rallies\, supporting a wide range of event needs\, and even recruiting his parents\, Ben and Jamie Dieck\, to volunteer and become members. His enthusiasm has made a meaningful impact on the chapter’s youth outreach mission. UNITY RAISES NEARLY $95\,000 DURING GIVE BIG GREEN BAY 2026 Unity is celebrating the impact of this year’s Give BIG Green Bay campaign\, which generated $94\,786 in support of compassionate end-of-life care and grief support services across Northeast Wisconsin. During the 24-hour giving event\, 362 donors contributed $78\,435 directly to Unity\, with an additional $16\,786 in matching funds and incentives through Give BIG Green Bay\, hosted by the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation. This year’s event raised a total of $3.69 million for 50 participating nonprofits\, highlighting the continued generosity and engagement of the greater Green Bay community. Additional highlights from the 2026 event include: • 37% of Unity’s monetary donations were contributed by new donors\, indicating increasing awareness and a broader base of support • Unity received monetary donations from 44 states\, along with contributions from Washington\, D.C.\, Canada\, Germany\, and the United Kingdom “This level of support is a powerful reminder that our community truly shows up for one another\,” said Jenifer Allen\, Director of Development for Unity. “Every donation represents a commitment to ensuring that individuals and families facing serious illness or grief have access to compassionate care\, support\, and dignity. Bite of Reality is a hands-on\, app-based experience that gives teens a realistic look at adult financial decision making. Students were assigned fictional life scenarios—including a career\, income\, credit score\, family status\, and debt—and rotated through stations to budget for housing\, transportation\, food\, insurance\, and other essentials. Fox team members volunteered as merchants and financial guides\, helping students understand how everyday choices impact long-term financial stability. Students also faced unexpected expenses and opportunities\, reinforcing the importance of planning and adaptability. The program is free to schools and students and is designed for grades 8–12.
